PSYC 100g Lecture 1: additional suggestions on how to study
Document Summary
[the following was written 9/8/2009 to email from psyc 326 student] I talk more extensively about how to study in my psyc 305 class, but here are the major suggestions. Study the way you will take the test. By that i mean make up your own multiple-choice test questions. Try to make up at least two questions for each issue; this can be that a correct answer for one question can be an incorrect question for another question you write. By that i mean put your hand over your notes or close the textbook (when it comes in) and ask yourself to reproduce what you have covered. If you can successfully do this then you do not need many cues to retrieve the memories, and that is exactly what you want. Ideally, you could reproduce my lecture without looking at any notes (i don"t even do that). Study a little at a time, but study frequently.
