Document Summary

Imprinting reinforcer: the animals become committed or find reinforcing to be around certain individuals early on in their life. Like an animal that hatches from an egg, the first thing they see moving is their mother, so they become imprinted to their mother. Very valuable, because we can use them as a reinforcer. Key terms: serial learning, paired associates, free recall, expectations, is a cognitive kind of feature, verbal learning, is cognitive learning in a broader context. Introspection: hold up an object and ask what it is you are holding. Don"t tell what you"ve learned but what you are experiencing. Even people in his laboratory could not give you the same answer, even if the observer had been trained. It would take over 1000 trainings to get them to not have any stimulus errors. This ended up being showing to not work at all: serial learning: first method developed in psych to understand how learning and memory actually work.
