Dua"a- an act of kindness, act of teaching the untaught, act of learning the unknown and a peaceful giving. The criminal justice system has changed significantly over the last 30 years. The vietnam war protests - for the first time, the brutality of the war was showed on tv. People started to become scared because they knew that they could be drafted to the war at any time. Because no one was paying them any attention, the protests started to turn violent. Parents saw the protests and became frustrated because the law enforcement weren"t doing anything about it. Around the same time, the civil rights movement started. King said that protests should be done peacefully. A sit in- blacks would go into white only restaurants and wait for a seat to open up. Once a seat opened up, they would go in and sit down.
