Connects it to memories and have an emotional response to it. Primary taste sensations include: sweet, salt, sour and bitter: umami (savory) and water. Gustatory pathway: taste sensations are conveyed to the insula (fifth lobe) via the facial and glossopharyngeal nerves and somewhat by the vagus nerve. Extrinsic eye muscles: each eye: 6 muscles that move it, motor units are small. Anatomy of the eye: wall of the eyeball consists of three layers.
