Pancho villa and zapata wanted to distribute land amongst the peasantry. Madero disagreed because he didn"t think all land had been taken away by. Diaz, so he wanted to litigate through the courts. The issue with this was that the courts needed to be un- corrupted before that could happen. Villa and carranza started to take away land themselves. Villa and carranza are in the north while zapata is in the south, and they essentially control mexico. Madero, however, has the federal government and all the ex-rurales. The rurales sees he"s creating stability so they don"t kill him but the u. s. ends up being his number one enemy. Assassination of francisco madero: u. s. involvement ambassador wilson, wilson wanted to remove madero from office because his policies would hurt the u. s. economy. They wanted to replace him with someone closer to diaz. Villa and carranzo make alliances to have pascual orozco from office.
