Document Summary

Anatomy = the branch of science concerned with the bodily structure of humans, animals, and other living organisms, especially as revealed by dissection and the separation of parts. Physiology = the branch of science concerned with the bodily structure of humans, animals, and other living organisms, especially as revealed by dissection and the separation of parts. Evolutionary biology lets us see the structure and function relationship done by climate, environment and genetics. Comparative anatomy provides insights in how we are similar and distinct from other species. Histology is the study of microscopic tissues. Hydrophilic is having an affinity for water. Proteins and lipids assemble to make organelles like mitochondria: mitochondria is rod-shaped organelles that can be considered the power generators of the cell, converting oxygen and nutrients into adenosine triphosphate (atp). Expression of different proteins (from genes) allows cells to specialize for one task versus another.
