The princess bride rescue sequence, has three battles/story events/scenes (one fight, but it turns around twice; man in black is winning, inigo is winning, man in black ultimately wins) A story event creates meaningful (cid:272)ha(cid:374)ge i(cid:374) a (cid:272)hara(cid:272)ter"s life; is expressed/experienced through value, achieved through conflict. Each scene has beats; a beat is an exchange of behavior in action/reaction. The princess bride fight scene; beat 1 = man in black winning but then inigo switches hands, beat 2 = inigo winning but then the man in black switches hands. Active protagonist vs. external forces to pursue their desire; causally-connected, continuous time, closed ending/irreversible change (he gets stuck in ice for 70 years)
