PSCI 3301 Lecture Notes - Lecture 6: Beatitudes, Microsoft Onenote
Document Summary
Thursday, march 30, 2017 4:04 pm: the only person we will read this semester that was in academia, what makes human life good/worth living is belief in god. Without it, they have fallen into a bad place. Not that religion is that great, but that it gave people a cause, something to die for. Willingness to die for something is what made people great. Religion has been replaced by science, we need to figure out something beyond that. Stop thinking about it: human beings cannot really be happy, written like the new testament, z prologue. The sun requires someone to receive the light. Zarathustra seeks to go under like the sun. Cannot just sit there and contemplate the sun. Meets a hermit who used to love man but now loves god.
