Parthenogenesis- unfertilized eggs create new all female cloned individuals. Female vs male encourages different kinds of traits. Eggs are much larger- have to have everything the developing organism needs. Female born with number of eggs she is going to have and that is it. Operational sex ratio- any given species, one sex will compete for the other because they are a limited resource. Intra sexual competition- males compete for access to females9 (tendency but can go either way). Descent of man- sexual selection as a theory. Healthy mates theory- means that mates is healthy themselves- able to grow long tail in development. Good genes theory- male has good genetic characteristics that will be passed directly to offspring. Runaway selection- the female finds them sexually attractive and gets their attention- no health adv to having him just attract their attention. Mouse who has sex until he dies- doesn"t eat and dies of exhaustion and hunger.
