The mast- box with information on the publication: advertisements. Classi ed- a big money maker; for sale, jobs, etc: taken a huge hit because of the internet (craigslist, ebay, etc) Opinion: editorials- of cial opinion of newspaper itself; rarely have bylines, columns- opinion of person who wrote it; picture usually runs with it, letters to the editor- opinion of the readers. Good ethical paper will run critical letters. Newspaper by the trends: shift from evening to morning. Generally speaking, tv caused this: fewer dailies, more sunday editions, more suburban weeklies, pay walls, more online content, you, consolidation. Fewer owners- bigger chains buy smaller ones: clustering.
