Gay movement now is centered around assimilationist access. Many want the cultures to come together. Last 10 years the queer movement has become more mainstream. Prominent social institutions and cooperators have backed the movement. Marriage has been a signi cant platform for both the gay movement and the queer movement even though that is not want they are all about. Many people have reasons to stay closeted for extended periods of time or inde nitely. Othrs want to come out on their own terms and in a setting of their choosing. They want to avoid the awkwardness frequently brought by those around them. Many people are known to be homosexual, but do not verbally come out. Why is sex the universal secret with desire to be deciphered. To come out of the closet is suppose to be the quintessential metaphor for revealing who you truly are. Opacity means not revealing yourself to the world.
