Great brawls between the armies: ex: pennsylvania and new englanders, washington had to worry not just about fighting britain but about these regiments fighting each other. *demonstrates the real problem people don"t identify as americans, they are still in the mind set of being new englanders, virginians, etc. High ground, militia occupy this ground; dug in on top of the hills at night: approx. 3,000 men brits realize they got a problem. Two options as british commander: 1. Land right in front of the entrenchment and launch a frontal assault on them and overwhelm them from the front: 2. Use naval supremacy to block the neck between the two hills. Other generals did not learn this lesson just because they are untrained does not mean they"re incapable: gen. burgoyne: trained troops are invincible against any number of untrained rabble.
