Walmart taken lead in organics and dairy (why its come so far) So many outlets for us to find our food sources in such a small vicinity: defined by abundance theme we will talk about a lot. Convenience (in time and ease) just add ____ . Costs: our food is cheaper than ever. Health/the illusion of health: diet soda, skinny water . Appearance: when foods start to look bad, the supermarket throws it away, anxieties about our foods going bad. Family farm/romanticized image of agriculture: simply not the way it used to be. Health/romanticized version of it: trust/reliability and appearance partly important because we"re afraid of our food making us sick. But food is making us sick long-term too. Convenience: time and simplicity of preparation, worried about wasting our time, lazy, ability to cook. Price and value (or the illusion thereof)
