Selective attention noticing things we only want to see. Less worrisome for a natural scientist because what goes unnoticed may not affect the experiment. Worrisome for human scientist because they may miss a quality of the human that causes an observation that was made in the experiment. Context is everything (color dot experiment ted talk), There are many factors that affect our vision, color is not in objects, color is the result of the interaction of a physical object and light and an eye. Real it exists independent of any human interaction. There is real stuff that is only real in our mind, but this is different than real in the external reality. Because we know how sense perception works, it can be manipulated purposefully. Train tracks getting closer as it"s farther away not real, sense perception is fooling us because of depth. We need to keep in mind how people are going to perceive it when creating art.
