Shift to increase variety in protein food choices and to make more nutrient dense choices: average intake of total protein foods is close to recommendations, while average seafood intake is below recommendations for all age-sex groups. Some seafood choices with higher amounts of epa and dha should be included. Eating patterns that include seafood are associated with reduced risk of cvd and moderate evidence indicates that these eating patterns are associated with reduced risk of obesity. They recommend eating fish (particularly fatty fish) at least two times a week.
