Look through art, media, religion, and medicine to see how black bodies are represented in primarily american culture but also other places around the world. How society creates a black body, defines it, and subscribes to blackness. America can"t be entirely defined without considering race and how it has played a pivotal role in american history. Political construct: institutionalized, within the fabric of politics. Social construct: like or dislike acted upon. An individual deciding one race doesn"t deserve soup while another does. Race in america is a political construct used to prevent equal distribution of resources. Social construct also plays a role in race but isn"t what effects colored people the most.
