A systemic process in which individuals interact with the through symbols to create and interpret meanings. Interpret meaning: even though we are looking at same object, everyone might have different symbols in head->leading miscommunication. Famous for causing shock and horror of audiences. Communication scholars thinking what communication model is. Mass media is so powerful, and impactful like shooting info to audiences and they instantly believe what media gives. People were instantly exposed to messages, but did not believe. It is opinion leaders influencing audience, not mass media. Mass media sends message out, and opinion leaders filter what we believe (collect the messages and distributes to people) Other aspects and elements of communication were rising. Creates interaction and allows it to be a part of process. Decoder and encoder are important in this model: interpreter sends(encode) the message to another interpreter(decode=listening, understanding)=this allows interacted communication. Psychological noises can make people ignore other noises.
