Your thesis statement is the cornerstone of your analysis and sentence zero for the whole of your essay: it holds your paper together and shows your reader where your paper is going to go. If you construct a good thesis, you can subsequently construct a good introductory paragraph. And with a good introductory paragraph, you outline the rest of your paper, helping you to construct a quality essay. A thesis statement: defines the paper"s argument. Having a solid thesis statement is the most important step in your paper. A few examples structured in the style of paper #1: Start by just putting yourself in the framework of considering how mcluhan might be wrong, and why: then start to generate counterexamples. In order to contest mcluhan"s formulation, you will need to choose one counterexample. Get there by first brainstorming a list of all the possible ideas that you have.
