Have a list of questions used for every applicant. Combination of focused or unfocused questions about you. Hypothetical questions: how an applicant would respond to a situation that commonly occur. Funnel sequence: open ended broad questions, narrowing questions (weekend availability), Inverted funnel: narrowing questions, then open ended broad questions. Tunnel questions: mixture of open ended and yes and no questions. Establish rapport through the use of relational messages. Clarify interview goals through the use of task messages.
