Healthcare has a special need for both. Leaders are visionaries and excitement behind organizaion and management is billing and day to day tasks. Leader focus is more external to organizaion, manager is more focused on what"s going on in the walls of the organizaion. There is some cross over between the two. Media (oten the person who will report on the organizaions. Government (making sure that we are complying with regulaions and policy"s) Financial stakeholders (people who may want to make an investment or donaion) Community groups (who in our community can we best reach?) Health policy, laws and regulaions (making sure we are up to date on rules) vendors. Leaders must have someone to lead in order to accomplish what they set out to do. Not everyone can or should be a leader. Simon sinek has a simple but powerful model for inspiraional leadership all staring with a golden circle and the quesion why?
