Can god still be internalized within us if we do not place. I understand what augustine is saying and i definitely agree that this is often the case however i am not sure if it is always true. The reward of rebellion is slavery; the reward of obedience is freedom. in essence augustine is saying that when we love and obey. God and his rules, that is when we are most free. However when we turn away from god, we lose our freedom because we become enslaved to things that don"t have their root in god. We can then only break free of this slavery by following the word of god and putting him first so that we are able to act through him and be truly free. St. augustine- the reward of rebellion is slavery; the reward of obedience is freedom.
