ACIS 1504 Lecture 6: Exam 2 ACIS Lecture 6 Notes
Document Summary
Clarity is second design goal (spreadsheet should be nice and clear when we look at it) Unity: similar things should appear/be placed together. use formatting, borders, fonts, colors keeping heading together, so they appear like a unit of something. Freeze panes- can keep the heading on the screen when you scroll down. Handy in big spreadsheets, but only for online data, not print outs. On printouts make sure heading shows up on both pages by using print titles (can repeat) Delineation: says opposite of unity, should distinguish between dissimilar items. But does not say to physically separate them. Should never have completely blank row or columns in spreadsheet. (will cause error) does exclusively as format. Choose formatting that distinguishes one thing from another. Big thick border to separate totals, bold font distinguishing total points possible, border that separates homework, colors. Headings, data area (own set of formatting), calculations (light blue background to tell difference)
