Unguis on dorsal and subunguis on ventral side of digit. Unguis and subunguis both on dorsal side of digit. Useful for getting under things like lids. Unguis on anterior position and subunguis on ventral side of a solid mass. Some such as deer have a split hoof with basically two digits. Epidermal derivative modified skin made of keratin used to filter krill out of water. Provides milk for nourishment to the young. Milk is routed through ducts to the surface. Nipple many ducts/cysterns on the surface. Hair marsupials secrete milk straight onto hair. Pump used in marine life to force milk into the mouth of the young since they don"t have lips to suckle. Usually only found in females but one bat species has a lactation male. Occur in the hair follicle and produces oil. Can be used to water proof or condition hair. Modified gland in the eye that provides lubrication for the eye - hartner glands.
