Document Summary

Group names: ilayda gurler, eli smith, breana taylor, preston caperton. Read the example case study: arab spring (from chapter 7 of the textbook). Use chapters 2, 3, and 7 in your textbook, the video we watched (conversations with history: the struggle for. Egypt) as well as your own analysis to answer the following questions: one of the central questions of the arab spring is why some regimes were more vulnerable to the revolutionaries than others. Some have theorized that the type of regime leadership influenced the vulnerability of the regime. For example, the regimes that were headed by a single president were most vulnerable (e. g. , egypt, libya, tunisia). The regime of mubarak was vulnerable since it encompassed dictatorial ideals in a sense. The authoritarian regime put the egyptian peoples own civil liberties at risk. The oppression of his people, and the frustration of the people is what caused the egyptian revolution to take place.
