Document Summary

After birth, women often become the primary care takers for infants and this continues on through the child"s life. In most countries, as well as the primary childcarer, women are also the primary house maintainer. On top of this, many women also need at minimum a part-time job to make ends meet. This combination of responsibilities is called the double burden, but i think it should be known as the triple burden as childcare, employee, and maid are all full-time jobs. These jobs make it incredibly difficult for mom"s to juggle life and participate in the labor force, made worse in that in many cultures, traditional gender roles dictate it is the woman"s responsibility to care for their child full-time. The u. s kind of sucks in these departments as there is no current policies for mandated paid leave for parents.
