Peacekeeping troops: financial support, military support (without troops) Two categories of interventions: neutral third party simply seeks to end the conflict, bias third party seeks to help a particular actor win the conflict. Interventions happen by various means: united nations security council resolution. Us in 1st iraq war: european union resolution. France in mali in 2014: african union resolution. Libyan intervention in 2011: individual states choosing to act with io approval.
