Document Summary

Evolution, themes of biology, and scientific inquiry 1: life and its common themes, Evolution is the process of gradual change that has transformed life on. Biology is the scientific study of life. Scientists may study anything from the development of a single cell into an organism to how living things interact in communities. There is a unity and diversity in life it can"t be summed up with one succinct sentence. Interactions (as in ecology, and, to a lesser extent, molecules) Life can be studied at different levels, from the entire planet to the smallest molecules! This is called reductionism, which reduces complex systems into smaller parts that are easier to study. Different branches can be studied at length, but there are several unifying themes. Reductionism: the reduction of complex systems into simpler systems. Refer to my notes levels of biological organization: macro to micro.
