In today"s world, people suffer from the lack of sabbath, otherwise known as. The lonely sunday has been replaced by the overscheduled sunday - soccer sunday, little league. Most people mistakenly believe that all you have to do to stop working is not work. The inventors of the sabbath understood that it was a much more complicated undertaking. The israelite sabbath institutionalized an astonishing, hitherto undreamed-of notion: that every single creature has the right to rest, not just the rich and the privileged (including women, slaves, strangers, and animals). Sabbath not only as a way to honor god but also as the central vehicle of their liberation theology, a weekly reminder of their escape from their servitude in egypt.
