Ethnography: a description of a society written by an anthropologist who conducted field research of that society. Step 1: write research design and obtain clearances/permits for research. Step 2: take up residence in the study community to explore institutions and values. Participant observation: method that involved learning the language and culture of a group and participating in daily activities of the group. Key informants: trusted individuals who give the anthropologist insight into their own culture anthropologist insight into their own culture.
