Aim: the purpose of this study is to test the hypothesis that enhanced behavioral. Couple"s therapy (ebct) vs. wait list control, such that ebct will increase martial satisfaction and increase communication skills in chronically distressed newlywed couples. Divorce is a growing trend in our society and research has been shown that some repercussions in divorced spouses experience physical illness, and greater rates of depression. Nearly one third of all marriages fail within the first five years, and between one half and two thirds end in divorce (carrere). Of that x% of them are married less than two years and x% were divorced. Research indicates that newlywed couples have distorted martial expectation which produces a decrease in martial satisfaction, increase of unhappiness and negative behavior reciprocation and a decline in martial communication. Ebct"s approach is traditional as well as enhanced. The traditional end focuses on promoting positive behavior exchange, communication and problem-solving skills training.
