He got married anna moore, daughter of george moore. He was persecuted for being a catholic and was de-barred from taking a university degree and from a public career. Later he changed to anglican in 1615 on the order of king james i. Donne served in the parliament as a member of parliament in 1601 & 1614. Donne"s poetry is divided into two parts:
