Dry silica gel is used to dehumidify a moist air stream. One hundred pounds per minute of moist air contains one pound of water vapor. This steam flows through a dehumidifier. Dry silica gel flows countercurrent to the air. The exiting air stream contains 10-3 pounds of water per pound of dry air, and the water in the silica gel is in equilibrium with the entering air (Not the exiting air!). The equilibrium relationship that applies to this process is q = 0.0375*p0.65, where q is the mass of water per mass of silica gel and p is the partial pressure of water in the entering air in mm Hg.

What is the mass of water removed per minute?
