Background and context

Plant viruses have the ability to get transmitted with the help of different vectors, via contact with a plant sap that is infected, by certain living organisms including nematodes and insects, and via pollen. It also may inherit viral diseases from parent plants. There are two categories of transmission of viruses and they are namely horizontal and vertical transmission.
