Introduction

Competition is a conflict in which many parties strive for a single, unattainable goal: one's success is the misfortune of the other (an example of which is a zero-sum game). Competition can be sparked by exclusive goals such as recognition (e.g. awards, goods, mates, status, and prestige), dominance, client base, specialized and rare commodities, or a region.
