This form of diabetes is characterized by high levels of glucose in the blood and the body"s inability to regulate glucose levels properly. Type 2 diabetes can be managed through changes to lifestyle and medication. Undiagnosed or untreated diabetes can have serious short- and long-term complications. Diabetes affects many major organs, including your heart, blood vessels, nerves, eyes and kidneys. Long-term complications include cardiovascular disease, nerve damage, kidney damage, eye damage (potential blindness), and foot damage (sometimes requiring amputation). Diabetes due to dams being build and aboriginal not being able to support themselves. Being poor forces aboriginal to live off commodities that are not necessarily healthy.
