Document Summary
Misunderstanding about level iii (p. 383: story as a method story as a construct. Can be some type of methodological view or a construct. There is value in both methods but they are not the same thing: identity self (identity is the storied united and purposeful self) Your identity is the unique story that you tell about yourself. Your identity story may not be the same as self : must understand identity in story term s(plot, theme, etc, with coherence, credibility, etc) Need to think in terms of how stories are constructed. When you tell the story of your life is should have some type of storyness to it in the sense that it us coherent and has logic, etc: levels i, ii, and iii and independent. One doesn"t lead to the other and one cannot be explained in terms of the other. Beyond 3 levels, need explanation: biological, environmental, and cultural considerations.
