Adam and eve are allowed to eat in their classroom (back to the comparison of eating and learning) : They"re learning how to bound things, and how knowledge itself impedes that. Raphael isn"t coy about talking about angelic body functions, which is strange, for an angel. You have to make a claim that what you don"t know and what you do know have something in common. Raph seems to be trying to make a point that angels are like humans, though he doesn"t specify exactly how similar they are.
