Etruscans believed eternal life after death (built tombs) Plebeians were allowed to vote, but only patricians were allowed to run for senate. Siscero made it to senate even though his parents were not in it. Spartacus was a slave forced to fight as a gladiator, but escaped and gathered tens of thousands of slaves to side with him (slave revolt) Caesar and cleopatra began a love affair. Cleopatra was viewed as a threat to roman society. Adultery was legal for men as long as the woman wasn"t married. Caesar"s reckless use of power eventually took a toll. Gaius octavius (octavian) became the heir of caesar"s estate and of rome (in caesar"s will: he was a weak and spoiled adolescent. Mark antony had a reckless reputation (orgies, drinking parties, etc. ) Octavian took charge of the provinces of the west; antony had the eastern provinces. Cleopatra fell in love with mark antony: she learned how to manipulate powerful roman men.
