Toxic shock syndrome (tss) had symptoms of nausea, chills, diarrhea, rashes, brownish discharge, multiorgan failure and potentially death. was linked to the use of certain types of tampons, especially those containing cross-linked carboxylmethyl cellulose with polyester foam. late 1980s these tampon brands were removed from the market. Sars outbreak happend around 2003 and had all the scary elements of a plague. led to more than 8000 cases and 800 deaths occurring on every continent in the world.
