Durkheim said division of labor would lead to anomie (people feel a sense of normlessness) The rise of scientific management and fordism: Study led to a system of people working in a very repetitive manner-> aimed at controlling actions for maximum input. Fordism-> mass production for a mass market. Only works when products are standardized, doesn"t work for production in small numbers. Unions/individual workers rejected this kind of work.
