Can be used to anticipate future population trends. Looking at the population, according to the ecological footprint we can see that this population is not sustainable. The large population growing up right now are going to become consumers and produce waste in large amounts. When affluence goes up, people begin to control there population. Moving people to better living standards will make then reduce there # of children. Household child security: more money stability means they have less children. Educating female: when they are educated the chose to have fewer children. Male education: educate men to stop persecuting women. Living in stable political, social, economic environemt. Heavily indebted farmers start to go bankrupt. People start moving to farms to feed there families. Lack of water caused cop failiers and displaced farmers from land. People left the great plains in huge numbers.
