Georgia tech is ranked the 2nd unhappiest college in the us: the unhappiest colleges have the most worthwhile degrees. People who consistently rate themselves as happy consistently have less minor and major illnesses. No substance abuse: love other people. To love another person is to be totally committed to helping the other person in the present and to become whatever he/she wishes to be in the future: believe they are in control of their life. Those who view aging as a positive experience tend to live longer: focus on the world outside of themselves. Give to others: search for meaning until they find it, live one day at a time. Doesn"t absolve us of responsibilities: laugh and smile. The time you need most to laugh and smile is the time you feel least like laughing and smiling: avoid self-defeating behaviors. Self-defeating behaviors: short-term payoff, long-term negative cconsequences.
