People unconsciously do not pay attention to the ideology presented by these media. Media isn"t per say responsible for what they sent out rather it is a reflection of the society trying to maintain and communicate the dominant ideology. These ideas are subconsciously reflected back to us. Dominant media is the gatekeeper around gender and ideology that we maintain. Media often argues there is a few minorities that are not recognized in the media. Media emphasize on the relationships, hegemonic masculinity and often contains various depictions of violence. Women are seen as victims and men are seen as perpetuators of this hegemonic notion of masculinity and ideal femininity. We see these stereotypes changing but now a female has to be tender and tough. Media shows how women are to be represented and not represented.
