Document Summary
Human development and learning: safe space. Many kids have exceptionalities: what we need to do in regards to teaching. As parent, teacher, mentor, counsellor, friend -> many roles into one: educating the whole child. We need to know developmental milestones in children emotionally, physically, cognitively. We need to know how to teach it all. A teacher with great knowledge in all of these areas is a great teacher: changing social norms and customs. Looking at the mission of the school -> what it stands for. What they like, what they don"t like. Then you can create a classroom profile, to build a general picture of the classroom. Not just the students, but the parents as well. Creating different lessons and instructions pertaining to other intelligences in the classroom. Universities did not have this -> the prof speak, student takes notes. Differentiated instruction acknowledges that everybody is different in their way of learning - > so you have to teach differently.
