Group elements some central elements in conceptualization of a group: common goal. Something they all want to achieve certain values they share: social structure. People have a role within a role could be a hierarchical a family could be an example: face-to-face (or some form of) interaction, self categorization. Define themselves as a group (the members say i am part of this group) they categorize themselves. Understand the individual members that makes the group. (not much north. It"s more on psychology of the individual!) collectivist: there is something more to a group than just the people who comprise it group psychology, tend to behave differently in a group. Your influence, behaviour and beliefs are influenced by the presence of others. Norms: norms are ways of specifying what are acceptable (or unacceptable) attitudes and behaviours of group members, central norms. Restrictive little tolerance to violate central norms. Eg. murder it has harsh consequence: general norms.
