Elephants over the past century have been growing smaller and smaller tusks. This is more than likely happening due to elephant poaching. There is a large market for ivory, so poachers would want to take the elephants with the largest tusks in order to get the best buck for there bang , so to speak. This means that the only elephants left to reproduce are those with much smaller tusks. Without the larger males for competition, elephants with smaller tusks can breed more successfully leading to offspring that also have smaller tusks. Women show more skin during their fertile phase of their menstrual cycle. People are more likely to donate a kidney to family members rather than strangers. This is likely related to altruism and your fitness. For altruism, a person acts to incur a cost (the donor loses a kidney) to provide a benefit to a recipient (the relative receiving the kidney).
