War fever and propaganda were the biggest issues. Everyone has to do their part to win. That creates a number of issues in itself. Canada had a lot of issues with profiteering. Once the war gets going all these companies were contracting to the government. Canadians seen as cheap (since making a lot of money and were not producing popular products) Workers asked to join the army and then dying. Early 1916 the british government told ottawa they were going to cut canadian supplies off. Patriotic canadians will not hoard food (flyer advertisement) As bad as it is it will be worse if the germans win . Companies take advantage of the conditions and rise prices and inflation takes off. Workers suffered for a long time, and suddenly during the war inflation hits them. Prices by 1916-17 were going up way faster than wages. Make people think the system is rigged against them.
