Internal oblique they run in both a caudal and ventral direction) in an oblique direction. 4. Fibers run caudo- dorsally, perpendicular to those of the external. Fibers run transversely, from right to left, across the abdominal wall. Others run almost parallel to the external oblique. Covered by very tough fascia layer that needs to be removed to see the fibers. May need to remove fibers of latissmus dorsi/ external oblique.
