A person with mci is at an increased risk of developing. 10-20% of those 65 and older may have mci. Cognitive changes: memory loss, difficulty communicating or finding words, reasoning or problem-solving, handling complex tasks, planning and organizing, coordination and motor functions, confusion and disorientation. Dementia involves damage of nerve cells in the brain, which can occur in several areas of the brain. Dementia affects people differently, depending on the area of the brain affected.
