Overall, aging is a result of decreased immunity combined with apoptosis or programmed cell death. The rate of ageing is dependent on genetics, your environment and lifestyle choices. This process is unavoidable and once it starts there is no reversing it. Aging is a complex process because there are so many contributing factors that operate at the same time in many functional levels.
